About us

Melo Catania (born in Messina, Sicily) is an extremely versatile musician, composer and master of improvisation. He has been playing the guitar since he was nine and has a classical music education. After studying the cello at the “Arcangelo Corelli” conservatory in Messina, he was the cellist in a chamber music ensemble specialising in Baroque music.

In the 1970s, he co-founded the jazz band “IL MAUSOLEO” with fellow Italian Melo Mafali, and appeared on stage with international jazz greats such as Dexter Gordon (saxophone) and Art Blakey (drums).

In the 1980s, the two Melos heeded the call of a producer and travelled to Germany. Melo Catania proved his virtuosity both in various jazz groups and in rock and Latin groups, also playing bass and guitar. ”Melo Catania is an excellent musician and composer,” said the now internationally renowned Melo Mafali of his colleague. It was during this period that Melo Catania and Christian Georg met.
Melo Catania spent time in the 90s concentrating on his own compositions in the areas of classical and jazz music.
In 2003, Melo began to make music with Christian in his studio. During their numerous sessions together, they created the pieces that they put together to produce their debut album, STYLE JOURNEY.
Melo Catania lives in Sicily and in Wuppertal.

Christian Georg (born in Wuppertal) is a business manager and musician. Guitars and music technology have been his great passion for as long as he can remember.
Whilst studying management in the ‘80s, he organised gigs for various bands. Since then he has been deeply involved in recording technology.

During this period he met Melo Catania and was captivated by his musical skills.
Christian Georg has had his own music studio since 2000, in which he recorded the STYLE JOURNEY album with Melo Catania.

Christian Georg lives in Wuppertal with his family.
